Josepth Bowcott is an experienced counsellor/therapist who works online with individual adults, couples, and young people/ children (age 11+). He works with a wide range of issues and problems including: depression/low mood; anxiety; stress; chronic illness; life transitions; obessive compulsive disorder (OCD); trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); abuse/neglect; bullying; bereavement/grief; gender/sexual identity; phobias; autism spectrum disorders; and many more issues.

He is particularly experienced in working with people with cancer/illness; substance related issues, and with teenagers/young people. 

Joseph also offers supervision for fellow practitioners on a one-to-one basis.

Joseph's way of working

Joseph is a person-centred therapist who integrates elements from a number of other approaches into his counselling/therapy work to meet the needs and preferences of each individual. He believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship with each individual and believes that this is central to the therapeutic process and to bring about change. 

Joseph's background and training

Joseph has a wealth of experience and skills gained while working in both Scotland and New Zealand with many different client groups, cultures and work places. He has worked in a range of roles including as a counsellor, supervisor, clinical manager and in cancer support. 

Joseph has a Postgraduate Diploma In Counselling from Strathclyde University and a Diploma and Certificate in Counselling (from Coatbridge College). 

Joseph is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
