Ann's way of working
Ann is a warm and welcoming practitioner who aims to create a safe space for her clients to explore their emotions and personal challenges. Her person-centred approach is collaborative, flexible and incorporates elements from a range of therapeutic models, including Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness therapy. Where appropriate for a client's needs, Ann can also introduce elements of somatic therapy, exploring the connection between the body, emotions, and nervous system.Ann's background and experience
Ann has over 15 years of experience in mental health support roles, working with a diverse range of clients navigating complex problems. Her background includes counselling, trauma and abuse recovery, bereavement support, family work and crisis support. Ann has worked in community, education, residential and secure care settings, supporting people affected by trauma, loss, family difficulties and emotional distress.
Ann holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Persona Development & Training. She has also obtained a COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate from the University of Strathclyde and a BA in Social Sciences from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Ann is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
