Ashley Brown is an applied psychology practitioner who works online with individual adults across a wide variety of issues and concerns including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; abuse/neglect; assertiveness; bereavement/grief; eating and body image issues; gender and sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; panic; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relaxation; self-harm; trauma; and many more issues.
Ashley has a particular interest in working with concerns related to stigma, identity and help-seeking behaviours within minority communities.
Ashley holds an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Stirling in addition to a BA in Psychology from the University of Houston. She is currently undertaking a doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Ashley's way of working
Ashley is a compassionate and ethically grounded practitioner who aims to provide a safe and affirming space where clients feel heard and empowered. She works from a person-centred perspective and tailors her approach to each client's individual therapeutic needs, goals and cultural background. In particular, Ashley uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and may incorporate elements from other approaches such as Mindfulness-Based Therapy where she feels these may be helpful.Ashley's background and experience
Ashley has experience across a range of support roles, including working as a mental health support worker in the NHS, where she assisted people with complex mental health needs. As a community mentor for a third-sector organisation, she has supported individuals navigating life transitions and helped them to build confidence.
