Catriona Taylor is a CBT therapist who works online with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety (general, social, health); low mood/depression; stress; abuse; anger/aggression; assertiveness; bereavement/grief; chronic illness; eating and body image issues; gender/sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; mindfulness; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); phobias; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relaxation; and many other issues.

Catriona also has an MFA in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee and a BA degree in Drawing and Paining from Edinburgh College of Art.

Catriona's way of working
Catriona is an empathic counsellor / therapist who works in a collaborative way with each client to help them achieve their goals and to feel better. Catriona uses cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) treatment plans as a basis for her therapy work, which provide a structure to sessions. She combines this approach with other therapeutic skills, such as person-centred listening skills and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy where she feels they may be helpful for an individual. As a trained artist, Catriona sometimes also uses expressive art therapy in conjunction with CBT.Catriona's background and training
Catriona has worked in a number of roles in a range of settings with the aim of supporting mental wellbeing. These include as a volunteer therapist working with a variety of clients and issues; working in a hospital setting delivering art workshops to enable people to express their emotions and feelings in a non-verbal way; and facilitating art based projects in the field of mental health.
