Emily's way of working
Emily aims to provide clients with a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where they can feel comfortable to explore their experiences. She offers counselling/psychotherapy and CBT and works in a humanistic, client-centred way tailoring her approach to meet the individual needs and preferences of each person. She aims to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each client, which she believes is the key to bringing about positive change.Emily's background and training
Emily has experience offering therapy for a number of charitable organisations including an adult mental health service, a trauma service, and a community project supporting families with young children. Emily has also worked as a class teacher in an international school in Dubai, as a residential support worker, and as a family support worker as well as volunteering on a helpline offering emotional support for anyone concerned about a child.Emily has a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, an MSc in Children and Young People's Mental Health from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc (hons) in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen.
Emily is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) a she is graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
