Jean Gallagher is an experienced counsellor / therapist who works online with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: depression / low mood; anxiety; stress; abuse; anger; bereavement / grief; bullying, chronic illness; eating and body image issues; family issues, life transitions; low self-esteem, relaxation; relationship issues; trauma; and many more issues. 

Jean has particular experience working with bereaved clients.
 

Jean's way of working

Jean works from a person-centred perspective and she aims to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with each client to provide a safe space in which they can explore their thoughts and feelings, to help develop their growth and development. Jean works collaboratively with each client, tailoring her approach to meet their individual needs and preferences, and helping to select the best tools and strategies to realise their full potential for positive change. Jean offers Person-Centred Therapy and sometimes combines this with Neuro-Linguistic Programming when she feels this may be helpful. 
 

Jean's background and training

Jean has worked as a counsellor/therapist in a number of settings including in private practice, the voluntary sector, for charitable organisations, and the private sector. She has also worked in a client support role within a counselling organisation. 

Jean has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Aberdeen, a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, and a Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Jean is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
