Julie's way of working
Julie offers a person-centred approach to therapy and will incorporate a range of other therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) and solution focused therapy where she feels this will be helpful. She may use a single approach or a combination of approaches and techniques depending on requirements and preferences of each individual. She believes the most important part of therapy is offering an accepting and safe space for each client to explore what is causing distress.Julie offers short-term or longer term online counselling and psychotherapy.
Julie's background and training
Julie has over ten years' experience of working with young people, adults and families who are experiencing mental health difficulties, addictions or are in recovery. Prior to this she worked in the field of HR and Training for a government agency.Julie has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from Aberdeen University. She is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
