Kim's way of working
Kim is a compassionate therapist who tailors her approach to counselling/psychotherapy to meet the individual needs and preferences of each individual. Her main therapeutic approach is Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and she integrates this with elements of a number of other approaches including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), DBT-Informed Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, and Trauma Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She also uses a variety of breathing and relaxation techniques to encourage a mind-body connection within clients.In addition, Kim offers online coaching for individuals wishing to overcome obstacles to achieve their goals.
Kim's background and training
Kim has several years' experience of offering therapy in a range of settings including in private practice and for a number of charities.She has a Diploma in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, a Diploma in Drugs and Alcohol Awareness, a SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Group Work - A Cognitive Behavioural Approach, and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills.
