Kyra is an applied psychology practitioner who works online with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood' stress; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; chronic illness; gender and sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; mindfulness; panic; phobias; relaxation; self-harm; trauma; and many more issues. 

Kyra has a particular interest in working with young people who identify as highly sensitive, and those experiencing low self-worth. She has significant experience working with trauma, anxiety, low mood, and low self-worth.
 

Kyra’s way of working

Kyra works in a compassionate, creative way, incorporating aspects of person-centred, experiential, and cognitive-behaviour therapy styles into her therapy work to meet the individual needs and preferences of each client. She is passionate about creating an environment in which individuals feel safe to fully explore any difficulties they are experiencing. Kyra aims to bring a sense of safety, nurturing, and empowerment into her therapy sessions.
 

Kyra’s background and training

Kyra has extensive experience working in supporting and counselling roles. Prior to these roles, Kyra worked in teaching and teaching supporting roles in the UK and Indonesia.

Kyra has an MSc in Development, Disorders and Clinical Practice from the University of York, and is currently working towards a doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University.

Kyra is a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
