Dr Mark Hoelterhoff is an experienced principal psychologist who works online with individual adults, couples and adult families with a wide range of concerns including: anxiety; depression/low mood; loneliness; low-self esteem; stress; complex trauma; obsessive compulsive challenges; panic; phobias; relationship concerns; identity exploration; gender and sexual identity; neurodiversity-related challenges; relationship and family dynamics; life transitions; experiences of adversity and many more issues.

Mark has a particular interest in helping clients connect with their core values, LGBTQ+ mental health, ADHD and supporting those who are navigating identity, relationships and life transitions with compassion and clarity.
 

Mark's way of working

Mark's therapeutic approach is grounded in Positive Psychotherapy, with a focus on each individual's strengths and values to support wellbeing and growth. He works collaboratively with clients to foster resilience, explore meaning and build positive emotions and relationships. Mark integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), relational therapy and emotionally attuned practice, adapting his approach to each client's needs. His person-centred style is shaped by a commitment to inclusivity and the creation of a culturally sensitive therapeutic space.
 

Mark's background and training

Mark has over 20 years of experience as a practitioner psychologist and academic. In addition to his therapeutic work, he teaches and supervises in the areas of clinical psychology, wellbeing and resilience, with a focus on learning and transformative approaches to mental health.

Mark holds a Doctorate in Psychology (PhD) from the University of Plymouth, as well as Master's degrees in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and in Counselling Psychology from Trinity International University. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton.

Mark is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Counselling Psychologist and is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

       
 

Mark's fee
