Nancy's way of working

Nancy is an empathetic therapist who believes in meeting clients where they are at the present time and listening to what they are expressing verbally and in other ways. She uses a number of therapeutic approaches in her counselling / psychotherapy work including Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, DBT-Informed Therapy, Coaching, Person-Centred Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Existential Therapy. Nancy tailors her approach to meet the individual needs and preferences of each person. In particular, Nancy's therapy is informed by the psychodynamic perspective and the belief that a sense of purpose and meaning is key to mental health. Nancy uses her psychoanalytic background to help clients understand the impact of their early relationships on later life. She may also use mindfulness and meditation techniques with clients to help them manage their stress and to enhance their mental clarity.
