Neil Drummond is a CBT counsellor who works online with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood' stress; abuse/neglect; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; bereavement/grief; chronic illness; eating and body image issues; gender and sexual identity; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; mindfulness; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); panic; phobias; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); relaxation; self-harm; trauma; and many more issues. 

Neil has a particular interest in working with anxiety and trauma.
 

Neil's way of working

Neil works in a collaborative way and aims to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each client. He approaches counselling/psychotherapy sessions from a person-centred perspective. He gives clients the space and time to explore their emotions and feelings and to set personal goals, which will drive the direction of the therapy sessions. Neil offers cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) and tailors his approach to meet the individual needs and preferences of each person. 
 

Neil's background and training

Neil has worked in support roles for a number of years. He has worked as a pupil support assistant with neurodiverse pupils at a local high school. He has also worked in advocacy, supporting people with severe diagnosed mental health disorders in hospital as well as those living in the community with low-level mental health disorders. Prior to these roles, Neil was a police officer for 30 years dealing with people from all walks of life including many with mental health issues. 

Neil has a Post-graduate Diploma in CBT and Groupwork and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills. 

Neil is a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
 

Neil's fee
