Kate is a counsellor/psychotherapist who works online with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: low mood/depression; anxiety and social anxiety; interpersonal relationships; life transitions; bereavement and grief; experience of trauma; concerns over self-image and self-esteem; body image issues; autism spectrum disorder and ADHD; career and work issues; perfectionism; procrastination; and many other issues.

Kate has a particular interest in working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and interpersonal relationships. Kate has significant experience working with students and young people with emotional, academic, and relational concerns.

Kate’s way of working

Kate primarily approaches counselling/psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective but she may also incorporate elements from person-centred therapy to meet the individual needs and preferences of each person. Kate aims to build a nurturing and collaborative therapeutic relationship with each client. She is committed to creating a warm and safe environment in which clients can feel safe to explore their emotions, experiences, and thoughtful reflections; gain a deeper understanding of themselves; and overcome any challenges. 
 

Kate’s background and training

Kate has worked in supporting and counselling roles for a number of years. Prior to these roles, Kate worked in the teaching and education sector. 

Kate has a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from University of Edinburgh and a BA Degree in Psychology from Hamilton College. In addition, Kate is working towards a doctoral degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh. 

Kate is a COSCA qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).


Kate’s fee
