Working online with international students

In addition to the usual challenges that students face, international students may struggle to adjust to the significant changes experienced when studying abroad.

  • They have less access to their family and friends due to being further from home.
  • They have to adjust to living in a different culture to their own.
  • They may struggle to make friends due to difficulties communicating in casual settings
  • They may feel under increased pressure due to family expectations and may worry about money.
  • They may not know how to seek help for mental health issues and may worry about whether they can express themselves fully in another language.

Support for international students

First Psychology is an independent provider of therapy which means that you can refer yourself to us and if you don't wish to tell your university or college about your struggles, you don't have to.
